Welcome to QUADRE's HomePage
(Mountain View, CA - Spring 2008)
It is a marvelous Spring. We just finished collaborating with Jim Kassis in two new works by Nathan Pawelek and myself for percussion and horn quartet. We will be recording them this Summer at the University of Oregon. We also have tours coming up in South Dakota (May) and Colorado (July). After ten years, we are still having just as much fun sharing what we do.

Not to mention that I am continually impressed with the level
of musicianship and compassion my colleagues have
whether playing for a packed concert hall on tour,
or a local school as part of QUADRE's "Toot your
own Horn" education program. I've said it before
and I'll say it again, it is so much fun collaborating
with people across the country. My hat is off to all
the fabulous artists, presenters and organizations
we have worked with lately. And I'm looking forward
to the opportunities in the future.
If you are looking for music, check out our second CD, 'Citrus,' which focuses on new
music. You can order it by clicking
here. The SF Chapter of the American Composers Forum provided
support as we head just north of San Francisco to record in
St. Stephens Church in Belvedere. We had a fantastic time
playing works by QUADRE members Nathan Pawelek and myself
in addition to works we commissioned from David Garner, Mark
Adam Watkins, and Christopher Wiggins. During the 2007-2008 season
our concerts feature repertoire from the CD. For more
information check out the upcoming events column to the right
on this web page.
And if you haven't checked it out yet, order
our first CD called "The Voice of Four Horns." We had
a blast recording "Tiger Rag" and "Send in
the Clowns" along with some more traditional repertoire.
Much of the work done to prepare for that recording happened
in conjunction with the nine
months we spent touring in Alabama.
